If you haven’t already, I invite you to read my YouVersion devotional plan called Merciful Moments for M.O.M.S for encouragement.

Look for the Father

"Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him."
(Mark 16:6 NIV)

“Where’s Daddy?” Every morning, when my daughter wakes up, she asks for her Daddy. I watch her walk from room to room searching for him. As her sleepy eyes fully wake up and she sees her Daddy, she becomes more settled. In her three year old mind, all is right in her world and she can start her day. I love the relationship she has with her Dad, and that she is determined to connect with him.

Just like my daughter searches for her earthly Father, God desires for us to look for Him, our Heavenly Father. After Jesus’ death, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome were looking for Jesus’ body and they were disappointed when he wasn’t there. But praise God that Christ rose for you and I!

As we celebrate Resurrection Sunday this weekend, I invite you to look for the Father with a fresh set of eyes and renewed focus.

  • Look for the Father in both quiet time and the busyness of life.
  • Look for the Father in a still small voice and a loud one.
  • Look for the Father in the beauty of nature and through the questions of a child.
  • Look for the Father in the church pew and the grocery store.

When we look for God, our Heavenly Father, He openly welcomes us to come to Him with a childlike trust and grow in relationship with Him.

Happy Resurrection Sunday to you!

Action Question: How will you look for the Father in new and refreshing ways in your life? Let me know in the comments.

Prayer for Peace

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” Colossians 3:15 NIV

Dear God,

Thank you for Your peace that calms and strengthens us.

Where our hearts are hardened, we seek Your peace.

Where there is division and discord, we seek Your peace.

Where there is war, may Your peace cover and restore what has been broken.

When our minds are burdened and anxious, thank you for Your peace that renews us.

When we don’t know which way to go, thank you for Your peace that directs us.

When we are seeking wisdom, thank you for Your Word that guides us.

Please help us to receive Your peace for our hearts and lives.

Thank you for Your peace that is always available to us.

In Jesus’ Name,

Thank you for reminding me that if You are for me, who can be against me?(Romans 8:31)

As I continue to move forward in the purposes that You have for me, thank you for leading and guiding me each day.

Thank you for always being for me and having my best interest at heart.

God is on the Move

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 NIV)

Summertime is almost here and the excitement of warmer weather, outdoor activities, and vacation travel is extremely appealing after the many limitations of the last year and a half. Reconnecting with family and friends who we haven’t seen in a long time is highly anticipated! Recently, I reconnected with my family after not seeing them since before the pandemic, and spent some amazing quality time together. We now must learn how to re-enter society with vigor, but also remain cautious. As we move forward with both the small and big changes, God has already prepared the way.

God Is With You

With each new season and transition in your life, one thing remains constant: God is with you. God is on the move and going before you, covering, protecting and leading you forward. You may not have all the answers or understand the direction He is leading you, but God assures you that He will be with you wherever you go. Today, I invite you to trust God’s guidance as He moves on your behalf and leads you each day. When fear, doubt, and anxiety come, surrender them to God and lean on God’s promises of His Word.

Our Family is Moving!

My husband, daughter and I are in the middle of packing right now and are moving from Maryland to West Virginia next week! While it’s an exciting time because my husband will be pastoring a new church and we have a new ministry assignment, everything is brand new. We will be moving to a new home, new city, and leaving the comfort and familiarity of our home for the last 13 years. However, we are standing on Joshua 1:9, and know that God has already prepared the way and will continue to provide for all of our needs. Please keep us in your prayers as we start this new adventure!

Question: How is God moving in your life? I would love to hear from you! Write in the comments below how God is moving in your life during this season. I would love to pray for you!

  1. With the move, I will be taking the next month off from blogging as we get settled. I will return in mid-July with exciting new content!
  2. I’ve written my first devotional to be released in August! Merciful Moments: A Devotional Journal to Move Forward with Grace Each Day! More details to come very soon!

Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Guest Post: RUTH: Relentlessly Use the Heart

In celebration of Women’s History Month, today’s devotional is a guest post that shares on a powerful woman in the Bible, Ruth by Nicole Evans Gyimah. I invite you to read and be encouraged by this writing. It is important for me to highlight other powerful female writers who are encouraging others with the hope of Jesus Christ! Have a wonderful week!

RUTH: Relentlessly Use the Heart By: Nicole Evans Gyimah

“…Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.“ (Ruth 1:16-17 NIV)

Can you believe it’s March already? The weather gets a little warmer. Flowers bloom, nature wakes up and we lose an hour! The Easter season is arriving with a revived hope and life. It’s also Women’s History month! As we move forward in 2021, this third month of the year invites the opportunity to celebrate all women in modern and former society. Female trailblazers and heroines have been changing our world continuously, inspiring and influencing us to live on purpose with boldness unapologetically. A biblical champion showing her relentless use of the heart, Ruth, is an excellent victor to highlight. Her story represents commitment in relationship, friendship, and love with an available heart of service to people and God.

The book of Ruth tells how God brings Naomi comfort as she experiences her greatest hurt, following the death of her husband and sons. Through Ruth’s love and kindness for her widowed mother-in-law and the remarkable friendship between the two of them, their adversities and sorrows lead them to a favorable future. She chooses Naomi and a godly Hebrew family. Ruth “…abandoned her lifelong home and her pagan gods. She became a Jew by choice.”

Ruth, meaning companion or friend in Hebrew, took care of her mother-in-law as if she was her own mother. She exhibited selfless behavior and valued relationships, specifically with Naomi and definitely with God. Ultimately, Naomi guided Ruth into a relationship with a distant relative, Boaz. He married Ruth keeping her from a desolate widow’s life in ancient times. Their union and offspring positioned Ruth in Jesus’ ancestry. God rewarded Ruth bringing her a husband’s protective care, security, motherhood and a place in Christ’s royal genealogy.

Ruth, an obedient servant, committed to Naomi’s welfare found her destiny in this role and through her pivotal decision. Her trust in Naomi, God, faithfulness and focus on others as she put her own desires aside honored the Lord. She was blessed because of her extraordinary character-including humility, loyalty, devotion and an available heart clearly directed toward benefiting her mother-in-law and God. How about you? Are you loyal? Do you relentlessly use the heart? Are you constantly trying to find opportunities to serve others?

I invite you to figure out an area, organization, cause or person needing assistance. This may be at work, next door, or in your home. Wherever the opportunity, start there. Live your story. Relentlessly use the heart and become the great woman (present and in history) God itended.
